Mail apps
Phones, Outlook and other mail apps sign in with an app password, never your company password. Make one per device in the portal and remove it if the device is lost. Webmail (email.badawitech.com) needs no app password: use “Sign in with BadawiTECH”.
Make an app password
Section titled “Make an app password”- Open the portal > Mail apps.
- Enter a device name (for example
iPhone) and create the password. - Copy it now: it is shown only once. Enter it in the mail app as the password.
iPhone, iPad and Mac: automatic setup
Section titled “iPhone, iPad and Mac: automatic setup”On the iPhone, iPad or Mac itself, open the portal > Mail apps and choose Set up Mail. It makes an app password and downloads a setup profile.
- iPhone / iPad: tap Allow, then open Settings > Profile Downloaded > Install. Mail is ready; nothing to type.
- Mac: open the profile, then System Settings > Profiles (or Privacy & Security > Profiles) > Install.
Settings for any mail app
Section titled “Settings for any mail app”| Server | Port | Security | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incoming mail (IMAP) | imap.badawitech.com | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing mail (SMTP) | smtp.badawitech.com | 465 | SSL/TLS |
- User name: your email address. Password: an app password. The outgoing server needs sign-in too, with the same user name and app password.
- If port 465 is blocked: port 587 with STARTTLS.
- POP3 also works (
pop.badawitech.com, port 995, SSL/TLS), but IMAP is better: it keeps the same mail, folders and read state on all your devices. - Thunderbird and Outlook usually find these settings by themselves from your email address.
Lost a device?
Section titled “Lost a device?”Remove its app password in the portal > Mail apps. The other devices keep working.
